The story
James Perry is a very boring person — by his own admission. Most days he sits at a computer and stares at code, wondering if he'll ever understand it. Then he makes AI fix the code. He's in his late thirties, but when he shaves he looks like he's in high school — a really strange, worn-out high schooler who's somehow extremely wise.
James has a wonderful family and feels lucky his wife and kids put up with him, because he loves everything about them. At any given moment, he might be in the middle of a marathon movie-binging session with his wife, or running an actual marathon. He might be cooking up some dumb new song, or actually cooking. He might repeat something he forgot he already said because of his ADHD — or his ADHD might make him start repeating things he already said.
He's an original Studio C cast member and a co-founder of JK! Studios. He's also a professional public speaker now and loves it. He uses humor, music, and his relatively charming wit to help people find the tools they need to fulfill their potential and find joy when facing hard times or doing hard things.
Behind the scenes
James is the cast member who turns the green room into a TED Talk and then a Pixar montage and then a slow, sincere conversation about purpose, all before lunch. We love him for it. We are also slightly afraid of him.
