The story

Whitney Call is a co-founder of JK! Studios, an original Studio C cast member, and the person most likely to walk into a sketch and quietly steal it before anyone realizes what's happened. She grew up in Portland, Oregon, where she's been best friends with Mallory Everton since age 8 — a friendship that's somehow survived a sketch comedy career.

Whitney attended Brigham Young University, joined Divine Comedy, and earned an MFA in creative writing while writing and acting on Studio C. She's married to fellow cast member Stephen Meek; they have three kids who reportedly funded their own trip to Disneyland by selling brownies at the farmers market.

For JK! Studios, Whitney co-wrote and co-stars in Loving Lyfe as Bentley ("fashion vlogger / not a lifestyle coach") and co-wrote/co-stars in Freelancers. She wrote and starred in Evening Plans, the at-home pandemic mini-series, and co-wrote and co-starred in the feature Stop and Go (2021) with Mallory. She's also a regular on Hecklers, the commentary series where she roasts much-loved franchises (recent targets: The Rings of Power, Madame Web).

Behind the scenes

Whitney is the one who pitches the weird idea you all initially say no to, and then six months later it's the most-viewed thing on the channel. We have stopped trying to predict her.

Favorite sketch

"Any sketch that lets her play a character who is calm on the outside and absolutely not on the inside."
