Starting JK! Studios with my closest friends has been something like Be Kind Rewind meets that crazy part from Mad Max: Fury Road. (I.e. all of it.) But here we are.

The story
Stephen Meek was born in 1988 in Hobbs, New Mexico, raised by a Wisconsinish mother and Idahooligan father in Texas (and elsewhere) before landing in Utah for BYU. There he met Mallory Everton and Whitney Call, married Whitney a few years later, and joined the original cast of Studio C just as it was launching.
He's a co-founder of JK! Studios and an original Studio C cast member. With Mallory, he co-directed the feature film Stop and Go (2021), and he co-produces JK!'s ongoing series including Freelancers and Evening Plans. Day to day, he splits his time between running JK! Studios — production, live shows, the bi-weekly newsletter — and helping raise three boys who fund their own Disneyland trips by selling brownies at the farmers market.
He loves reading above all and is currently developing an anti-Black Mirror sci-fi show, an Earthsea-inspired series, and a Regency comedy. If you have notes, he's listening. If you have funding, he's listening harder.
Behind the scenes
Stephen is the reason your favorite sketch came out on time. He doesn't say much during the take, but afterwards, somehow, the schedule is reorganized, the venue is booked, the email list is sent, and his kids have a healthy snack. Wizardry.
